Tofu in a sticky, sweet sesame sauce – quick to make with simple ingredients and has a beautiful texture.
Ingredients
1 block of tofu
2tbsp cornstarch
1tbsp sesame seeds
The Sauce
1/4 of water
2tbsp cornstarch
3tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp brown sugar
1tbsp rice vinegar
1tbsp ketchup
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2tsp chilli flakes
Directions
1) Drain and pat dry tofu with kitchen towel and tear into chunks.
2) Air fry 12 mins at 210, or fry on skillet until golden brown.
3) Prepare sauce by adding water, cornstarch, soy sauce, chilli flakes, maple syrup, rice vinegar and ketchup. Stir well.
4) Once tofu is done, fry minced garlic and ginger for 1 min, then add sauce.
5) When sauce is sticky, add tofu and toss to coat.
6) Top with sesame seeds and fresh spring onions.
